Air supported cataract surgery in vitrectomised eyes

Slobodanka Latinovic

Yugoslavia

An original method was used for cataract surgery in 140 patients, 6 months to 5 years after vitrectomy. Vitrectomised eyes are difficult cases for cataract surgery because of the changed physical properties, which result in softness of the eye and instability of the iridolental barrier during both extracapsular and phako surgery with IOL implantation.
The results, complications and advantages of this method are presented and discussed in the video.
