post-operative streptococcus endophthalmitis : devastating complication

6 cases of streptococcus endophthalmitis proven by paracentesis and direct bacteriologic evaluation were studied. Cultures were positive for pneumococcus in three cases and faecalis streptococcus in three cases. In all cases prognosis is very bad despite antibiotic treatment.
