Choice of IOl and pitfalls in combined phaco-vitrectomy

In view of the high incidence of cataract formation after
vitrectomy, a vitrectomy is often combined with a phaco procedure. Several
pitfalls in the used phaco-technique must be avoided. The type of the used
IOL must also be chosen in function of visualization of the posterior pole
during and after the vitrectomy.
