lens in combined anterior/posterior surgery

In many cases of vitrectomy
primary cataract surgery is necessary to improve the view to the retina.
Foldable IOLs are implanted with because the decreased large of incision
for implantation. Because of the adhesion of silicon oil acrylic lenses
are favoured.
We perform the first experiences with the hydrophilic foldable acrylic
IOL "sensar" in combined procedures of cataract surgery and
vitrectomy. The simple handling of the unfolder injector allows a careful
and quick implantation of the IOL through a small incision.
We have to discuss is the primary posterior capsulotomy necessary because
developing opacification or later YAG-capsulotomy allowing better view
in removing for example decaline in cases of gas endotamponate.
