Vitrectomy
in the management of posteriorly luxated lenses.

The film shows fragments of several vitrectomies performed to remove posteriorly
luxated lenses. Three different modifications were applied: vitrectomy
alone, vitrectomy combined with facofragmentation and vitrectomy combined
with endophacoemulsification. One of the above modifications was chosen
depends on a nuclear sclerosis connected with patient's age and period
of time elapsed between lens luxation and lens removal. The technique
was also depended on the acuiqpment actually available in our department.
