Jerzy Mackiewicz

Lublin, Poland

The film shows fragments of several vitrectomies performed to remove posteriorly luxated lenses. Three different modifications were applied: vitrectomy alone, vitrectomy combined with facofragmentation and vitrectomy combined with endophacoemulsification. One of the above modifications was chosen depends on a nuclear sclerosis connected with patient's age and period of time elapsed between lens luxation and lens removal. The technique was also depended on the acuiqpment actually available in our department.
