One sentence objective: To test the T.S.V. 25 efficiency in P.V.R. surgical
procedures.
Purpose: After18 months
using T.S.V. 25 in partial vitrectomy procedures such as macular surgery,
to answer the question: Is T.S.V. 25 a new disposable device in P.V.R.
treatment?
Methods: After testing the efficiency of the different instruments and
learning to operate with, it was undertaken to treat P.V.R. proliferations
in combine procedures. A lot of parameters were listed during operating
the retinal detachements.
Results: If the efficiency of T.S.V. 25 can't be argued in partial vitrectomy,
the flexibility of the instruments is a real proplem when operating the
P.V.R. complications of a retinal detachement. On the base of the vitreous,
the place you absolutely need to access for the ablation of the proliferations,
using the cutter, or the forceps, or the delaminator, may be untouchable. In
the opposite, the ablation of épi or subretinal membranes, endodiathermy
or endolaser, using or not silcone oil, are realy suited to 25 Gauge vitrectomy
system.
Conclusion: 25 Gauge vitrectomy is a new device realy suited to reoperate
P.V.R. complications in the treatment of retinal detachement. The efficiency
of the instruments increases every months, and the traumatism of the procedures
decrease every day...
