Oral presentations of concept and techniques can be made with powerpoint presentation, edited film or unedited films. They must follow the EVRS rules named "a certain philosophy" : in order to add a stronger teaching value, speakers will not simply present their way of practicing and their results. They must explain not only the "What" but also the "Why". In other words speakers should concentrate as much on their philosophy, on the principles behind their actions, as on the success (or failure) rates they achieve using that particular technique. Presentations which will not respect this spirit will be swifted in Posters. The presentation duration should not exceed 10 minutes. If the content cannot be presented in this allocated time, please indicate and explain why you need doubled or trippled time. However it may be shortened by the session moderator if needed. An interactive vote will allow the audience to judge the interest of each presentation as well as the convincing power of the lecturer. The 3 best presentations will be awarded.

Posters size : 2m vertical, 1m horizontal . Any type of poster material can be accepted and fixation tools are provided on site.

Edited films on tricks and pearls. They must be provided with soundtracks. A total time of 8 minutes is suggested. VHS and SVHS format are accepted but DV, DVCam and DVD are highly recommmended. All the videos will be submitted to a Film Festival and the best video will be awarded. The videos should be sent to EVRS before July 20, 2008.

Abstracts for oral presentations must be structured (Advantages; Methods; Effectiveness / Safety). Only meaningful abstracts will be accepted (see examples below). Abstracts should be no more than 300 words. Indicate all authors, institutions, city and country. All abstracts must carry a one-sentence "take home" message.

A NEW TECHNIQUE OF INTERNAL LIMITING MEMBRANE REMOVAL

Advantages : To remove the entire internal limiting membrane (ILM) in the posterior pole without using dying in less than 1 minute.

Methods : The use of the GUITAR (Greatly Useful Instrument for Taking All the Remainders) designed by John Lennon allows to attract the ILM which suddenly goes dancing and spontaneously detaches from the underlying tissue. To obtain a faster effect, Rock'n'Roll music is recommended compared to a slow one.

Effectiveness / Safety : 58 ILM have been removed in less than 40 seconds. Only complication observed: 8 patients spent all their money in participating in all rock concerts.
